Solar Station Live

SOLAR STATION LIVE is programmed to automatically connect to your inverter. No setup is required.

However, if the logo remains displayed on the screen and no data is shown after 1 minute, it is due to one of the common causes.

DON'T PANIC!

Firmware Update

The instructions for updating the firmware are available here.

SOLAX

SOLAR STATION LIVE uses the basic inverter settings for its operation. Ironically, if your installer secured the connection, it caused the automatic detection to fail. Don’t worry, we’ll fix it.

  1. SOLAR STATION LIVE searches for a WiFi network named Wifi_XXXXXX. This is the WiFi network broadcast by the inverter dongle. Check with your phone that such a WiFi network is available nearby. If you have a WiFi dongle but cannot see the specified WiFi network, it is likely hidden. The "hidden" WiFi network setting is configured via the SOLAX Cloud mobile app. In the remote inverter settings, go to Settings - Network, and disable the "Pocket WiFi SSID Broadcast" option. The Wifi_XXXXXX network should now be visible.
  2. The dongle's WiFi network is not password-protected, so you can easily connect to it. The page itself is password-protected.
  3. SOLAR STATION LIVE uses the default password to access the API. The default password is XXXXXXXX, displayed in the WiFi network name and on the inverter dongle itself. The serial number always starts with the letter S.

If the PV system installer changed this password, SOLAR STATION LIVE cannot connect to the inverter. To reset the password to default, we first need to obtain the backup password. The backup password can be found in the SOLAX Cloud mobile app under Devices - Inverter. There is a "Backup Password" button. The backup password is usually 6 digits.

Now connect to the Wifi_XXXXXX network using your mobile phone. Open a browser and navigate to (depending on the dongle version) http://192.168.10.10 or http://5.8.8.8

Log in with the username admin and the backup password as the password. After logging in, go to the System tab and enter the old password (backup password) and the new password, which is the dongle serial number. This serial number can be found in the WiFi network name or on the dongle itself and starts with the letter S.

Disconnect from the network with your phone, and SOLAR STATION LIVE should now start.

These are the two most common connection issues for SOLAX.

GOODWE

SOLAR STATION LIVE uses the basic inverter settings for its operation. Ironically, if your installer secured the connection, it caused the automatic detection to fail. Don’t worry, we’ll fix it.

  1. The default WiFi dongle settings are that the dongle broadcasts a network named SolarWifiXXXXXX, where XXXXXX is the dongle’s serial number. The password for this network is 12345678. First, verify that you can connect to this network with your phone.
  2. If you cannot connect with the given password, it has likely been changed. Please connect to the dongle’s WiFi network with the correct password and change it back to 12345678 at http://10.10.100.253. For security reasons, if you prefer not to use the default password, SOLAR STATION LIVE also tries the password LiveYYYYYY, where YYYYYY is the SOLAR STATION LIVE serial number, displayed at the bottom-right of the main screen.
  3. Sometimes, even with the correct password, the dongle may be stuck. Briefly press the button on the dongle. The dongle will blink its LEDs and reset. Wait approximately 3 minutes for it to restart, then try starting SOLAR STATION LIVE. Everything should now work.

These are the most common issues I’ve encountered. If you experience something different, please let me know so I can add it here.
